Remembering Pops
Each moment, a memory. Each photo, a piece of Latty’s Legacy.

Throw back photo May 27, 2011 with Latty at his home in Lithinia, Georgia. Latty and I go way back to Camperdown High School from 1st to 5th form and he and my brother Horace, from Primary school. Latty was a brilliant scholar even though he would be singing during class. Latty was always jovial and would cause you to laugh when you were in his presence. R.I.P. my brother.

Our sweet Latty will live on in our memories forever. I remember ‘The Latty” awards where he acknowledged folks in the immediate and extended family, and we received one! People may forget what you said, or what you did, but they never forget how you made them feel. Rest in peace sweet Latty.

Brother for eternity! -Ivan Linton

Last April at my birthday party I told the story of how gully bud came about. Its a story that's very dear to the 4 persons that were involved. As kids we went to our annual boys champs. Latty Rip Millicent Laurel and Tig RIP. My sister Angela went also but unknown to us she left early and went home. About 9:30pm the four of us walked to Millie and I home. We could not go in the house as we had to wait on Angela. We waited about 2hrs but there was no Angela. Then we heard the door open and my mother and stepdad making their way to the car. So we ran ( how dare us to be outside with boys). Around the corner was a small gully so I jump in the gully to hide the other three said they were not coming in the gully. Miss proper Millie and the others said no Laurel I am not coming in no gully. I called each by name and said you better jump in the gully which they did. Same time the car passed and we ducked. As the car passed and turnedthe corner we bolted to the house and there was Angela to ket us in. Latty and Tig walked home. My stepfather told my mother he saw heads in the gully which we swore we knew nothing about. We told them our school teacher Mr Bounds dropped us home. (He would do anything for the kids). We had to explain why there was no car but they saw 2 boys walking. The car went the other direction and we knew nothing about the boys. My mother said well Monday we have to call Mr Bounds. I then had to beg Mr Bound to lie for us. My mother never called. Latty I will miss your Infectious Laughter. You have always carried this laughter with you from a boy to manhood. Until we meet again my friend RIP. -Laurel Jackson
